Nia5Stages-people

The Nia 5 Stages is an integrative practice based on the five stages of human movement development: Embryonic, Creeping, Crawling, Standing and Walking.

Practiced with awareness, these stages have the power to facilitate optimal alignment, improved function and comfort in the body. This mindful movement practice provides a tool for reclaiming and sustaining mobility, flexibility, strength, agility and stability.

A Nia 5 Stages class is a guided practice, typically done without music. Class begins with participants learning about the class focus, seeing each of the 5-Stages demonstrated, then, moving through each stage, with an emphasis on increasing a sense of ease and comfort in natural time.
