MBSR Program & Tuition Information

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Training

MBSR is an eight-week stress reduction program that teaches research-supported mindfulness meditation and awareness practices which have been shown to dramatically decrease stress and improve well being for individuals with a wide range of concerns. Our program follows the curriculum developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Center for Mindfulness.

The course meets once a week for two and a half hour classes and for one day-long class retreat. 

Participants learn mindfulness practices including: The Body Scan meditation ~ Mindful breathing ~Mindful Yoga Practice ~ Sitting meditation ~ Walking meditation ~ Awareness practices for daily living.

All practices can be adapted to suit a wide range of mobility and individual needs. Participants are provided with all course materials including handouts and easy-to-follow CDs to help build a strong foundation of practice between sessions.  The classes take place in a comfortable and supportive environment that balances structure and flexibility.

People participate in the MBSR  training with a wide variety of physical conditions and limitations. We provide chairs, yoga mats, cushions, and blankets for use during class sessions. Of course, you are also welcome to bring your own props or cushions to provide optimal support for your practice.

Getting Started

The first step to getting started is to attend a Free Orientation Session. At your orientation session you will meet with the class instructor to learn more about the program, discuss your specific situation and goals and ask any questions you may have about the program. 

Orientation sessions are free of charge, and do not obligate you to sign up for the class. They are open to anyone interested in learning about MBSR or as a first step to enrolling in the program. Attending an Orientation is required of all participants prior to registering.  Contact us  to schedule your free Orientation.

Tuition & Payment

Course Tuition: $395 / $375 with early registration

Course tuition includes:

  • The Standard 8-week MBSR Program (26 hours of direct instruction & practice, inlcuding 8 weekly classes & All-Day Retreat)
  • All Class Materials: Four Practice CDs, Workbook, Home Exercises, selected readings and on-site practice supplies
  • 20% Discount on first MBSR Graduate class, workshop or wellness class
  • Open Invitation to all future MBSR ALL-Day Retreats at no charge

Insurance: MBSR is not therapy or medical treatment. However, some insurance plans do cover health education and wellness classes. If your plan covers the MBSR program, we will provide the information you need to request reimbursement directly from your insurer.
