Mindfulness, Emotion and Compassion-in-Practice
What do current science and the ancient practices of mindfulness teach us about emotions, resilience and
the value of cultivating compassion, gratitude and forgiveness? How can we integrate these “heart practices” to expand our perspective and foster connection?

This 5-week course builds on the core mindfulness practices of MBSR to explore the science behind
emotion and resilience, with a focus on the practice of compassion, gratitude and forgiveness as a path of
renewal in times of challenge and change.

Class Format: This course meets for five, 2-hour sessions and one half-day retreat (4 hours). Each session includes research-based learning, discussion, and experiential practice that builds on foundational mindfulness skills to include cultivating kindness & gratitude, mindful forgiveness and compassion for self and others. Guided MP3 recordings are provided to support practice between sessions along with a workbook and online resources.
