Mindfulness- in- Motion: Yoga & Nia Technique
Mindfulness is at the heart of Yoga. As a path of practice, it cultivates awareness, strength and flexibility of both body and mind, with the capacity to bring more harmony, balance and compassion to our lives. Jillayne is a registered yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance ® (RYT 200). She integrates mindfulness as a core component in all her classes and has a particular interest in sharing the benefits of Gentle and Restorative Yoga practices. She completed yoga teacher training with Sarajoy Marsh at the Daya Foundation in Portland, Oregon; a non-profit yoga therapy center dedicated to making the benefits of yoga more accessible to all.
Nia Technique offers a dynamic way to cultivate sensory awareness and the joy of movement, nourishing the body, mind and heart. Nia engages the senses through music, and a blend of dance, martial arts and healing movement arts. As a licensed, Brown-belt Nia Instructor, Jillayne offers classic Nia and Nia 5 Stages classes as another way to move toward a greater sense of ease, pleasure and self-expression.
Jillayne continues to cultivate her own practice of mindfulness through meditation, yoga, personal retreat practice ~ and in the beautiful Northwest woods, rambling with her husband and their dogs Phoebe & Jake ~ true masters in the art of joyful activity.
